Advanced:

Villa of Deception is an instance from Episode 18 - Direction of Prayer. You have to complete the story version of the instance before proceeding to the daily version. This page documents the daily version. (For a walkthrough of the story version, see step 18 of Direction of Prayer.)

The daily version of the instance requires a party of at least two players. There are two modes, Normal and Advanced, which share the same cooldown. The Advanced mode requires every party member to possess a  Villa Basement Key, which is obtainable from the Normal mode.


Walkthrough

Note: all normal monsters in the instance take 90% reduced damage (level 9 771.png Relieve On).

  1. Talk to Aira /navi wolfvill 79/260 in Grey Wolf Village to create and enter the instance.
  2. Once inside, you will find yourself in Area 1 (guest sitting room and hallway).
    1. Move north until you reach the locked door to the dining room.
    2. At least two different players must walk down both sides of the hallway while avoiding the Reapers (sprite) until they reach the very ends of the hallway.
    3. The two players must simultaneously (within a 3-second window) talk to the Ghost NPCs (sprite) at the ends of the hallway to unlock the door to the next area.
  3. Enter Area 2 (dining room).
    1. Defeat all 35 monsters in the area.
    2. Interact with the four dining tables closest to the centre to reduce the density of Corrupted Plague in the next area, at the cost of receiving a negative status effect.
    3. Move north until you reach the locked door to the next area, open it by interacting with the knight statues on both sides.
  4. Enter Area 3 (garden).
    1. Defeat all 35 monsters in the area.
    2. Avoid the Corrupted Plagues which cast 752.png Gradual Gravity that reduces the players' HP by approximately 30% of their Max HP per second.
    3. Door to the next area is at the very north.
  5. You can now enter the First Boss Room (Schulang).
    1. The party leader can initiate the fight by talking to Schulang.
    2. Defeat Schulang to unlock the door to the final boss room.
  6. Finally, you can now enter the Final Boss Room (Freyja).
    1. The party leader can summon the demi-god Freyja by interacting with the altar.
    2. Defeat Freyja to complete the instance.
      • Mechanics:
        • The further away Freyja is from the Centre Chandelier, the stronger she becomes, meaning:
          • Her skill damage increases
          • She casts increasing level of 771.png Relieve On, from level 1 (reduces damage taken by 10%) up to level 10 (reduces damage taken by 99%)
          • Players can try to lure Freyja, although she will frequently 354.png Run away from her target.
        • Hostile Magic Circles are summoned near the centre of the room.
          • In Normal mode, one small and one large Magic Circles are spawned. In Advanced mode, a total of four Circles are spawned instead.
          • Each Circle will move independently and semi-randomly in the general direction of a target player.
          • Upon contact with a player, the Circles will teleport the player to a random spot within the Villa. The player must then travel back to the boss room. In addition, a large Magic Circle will also damage the player.
          • Each Magic Circle can be temporarily disabled (for 10 seconds) by sacrificing some of a player's SP to interact with one of the White Aura NPCs near the windows. While interacting, the player cannot perform actions. The party must have sufficient active players to keep all Magic Circles disabled.
          • Freyja gains substantial health regeneration from each active Magic Circle. Disabling the Magic Circles will reduce/prevent the regeneration.
        • Freyja changes her armor element to Shadow or Holy (initial element is Holy).
        • Freyja frequently uses 780.png Cane of Evil Eye, a threatening skill that summons an array of eight magic canes from the ground, dealing 15000 fixed damage per second to players caught within the area.
        • Freyja's other damaging skills include 769.png Rain of Meteor, 768.png Demonic Hell Judgement, 653.png Earthquake and 340.png Dark Strike.
        • Freyja can also casts 8.png Endure, 716.png Max Pain, 759.png Demonic Mass Stone, 762.png Demonic Mass Confuse and 349.png Power Up.
  7. After defeating the Freyja, every party member can interact with the altar to collect  Amethyst Fragments (and a chance to get  Villa Basement Key in Normal mode).

Strategies

  • One viable strategy is to lure Freyja towards the entrance (south) of the room, where it is more spacious than the other side of the room, making it easier to dodge skills and Magic Circles.
  • If your party has lack of DPS, two members must interact the white aura to avoid HP regeneration, while others DPS.
  • If the party has enough DPS, it might be desirable to ignore the White Aura NPCs and Magic Circles, and instead focus on quickly defeating Freyja while dodging consequential skills.

Rewards

Rewards can be collected from monster drops and by interacting with the altar after defeating Freyja.

 Blueprint Scroll at 20%.
  • Twisted Schulang and Twisted God Freyja both drops a single piece of  Sanctuary Sudarium at 100% chance.
  • Twisted Schulang and Twisted God Freyja both have a chance to drop any of the Vivatus Fides Weapons pre-enchanted with two line options. (Unconfirmed)
  • The altar will grant all party members  10 Amethyst Fragment. (Unconfirmed)
